I work where the made meets the found — pigment that pools of its own will, paper folded into forms that remember the hand.

About

Ankara, paper, and a long practice.

Hakan Pehlivan lives and works in Ankara as an artist, curator and director of the Paper Artists Association (KSD). Trained in art education at Gazi University, in Newcastle upon Tyne and at Hacettepe University, he has shown across Turkey and Europe.

His practice spans installation, paper objects, drawing, painting, digital print and video — held together by a fascination with how humble materials carry weight and memory.
